Balochistan attained independence from British colonial rule on August 11, 1947. However this independence lasted for 7 months and 15 days. On March 27, 1948 Pakistan captured Balochistan and continues to occupy it illegally till date. Pakistan's atrocities that began on this day continue till today.

On 11th August 1947, Balochistan became independent but it’s independence was short lived. On 27th March 1948, Pakistan occupied Balochistan and continues to occupy it till today. August 11 is celebrated as Balochistan’s independence day across the world.
