A church service in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, turned into a scene of terror when a 26-year-old man, identified as Bernard Polite of Braddock, pulled out a gun and aimed it at the pastor in the middle of his sermon.

Pennsylvania State Police swiftly responded to the incident, charging Polite with attempted assault after he entered Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church just after 2 p.m. on Sunday and attempted to shoot Pastor Glenn Germany.

Video footage captured by the church’s deacon, Clarence McCallister, and shared online by Pastor Glenn Germany, depicts the harrowing moment when Pastor Germany found himself staring down the barrel of a gun. In a courageous act of selflessness, Deacon McCallister can be seen leaping into action, bravely tackling the gunman to the ground as Pastor Germany managed to evade the imminent threat.

The incident is reminiscent of Sydney attempted assassination where Rev Bishop was attacked by as assailant during the service. Last month, an assailant attempted stabbing, however, the Rev Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel survived the attack. Later, the assailant was arrested.
